Museum exhibit to include memorial for former beloved FDC member

SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity exhibit to include a memorial to Anthony Rucker, former senior vice president at California Capital FDC.

A new waterfront science center in Sacramento, the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity will open on November 13, 2021, and one of its exhibits includes a memorial to Anthony Rucker, former senior vice president and beloved member of our Financial Development Corporation family lost in 2019.

The exhibit, formerly known as the Powerhouse Science Center, consists of the Periodic Table of Elements and reflects the names of the center’s founding members. The square for the chemical element Neptunium, or Np on the Periodic Table display is engraved with Anthony’s name. Neptunium has the atomic number of 93 and September 3, or 9/3 - Anthony’s birthday.

Anthony served as a long-time senior credit officer for California Capital FDC and lead lender to the Science Center spearheading the capital stack of state assistance to support the Center’s project financing requirements. We are grateful for the opportunity to join our fellow peer development corporations, California Infrastructure & Economic Development Bank (IBank) staff and our association lobbyist Yolanda Benson, Government Strategies Inc. contributing to this legacy memorial honoring Anthony Rucker, forever in our hearts.
